Empezando Graduation

Congratulations and felicidades to our newest San Luis Obispo County "Empezando" graduates!

On November 16, seven dedicated students completed Mission Community Services Corporation's ten-week "Empezando" business start-up class.

Special guest speakers included Ana Rodarte, a past Empezando graduate and owner of Las Delicias de Zacatecas, Fernando Sanchez, Cal Poly Professor, as well as Wells Fargo representative and past Empezando instructor Carla Blandon.

Thank you to our sponsors PG&E, Cuesta College and their Doing What Matters program, U.S. Small Business Administration and Wells Fargo Bank for making this possible.

The Board of Directors and staff at MCSC are very proud of these students for the months of hard work and commitment to achieving their goals. Please join us in wishing them all the very best as they begin their business ventures!

Congratulations to our Summer Start, Run, Grow Graduates!

On August 31st, MCSC graduated another class of inspiring and motivated entrepreneurs. A big congratulations to each and every one of you! These students spent their summer afternoons working tirelessly at starting and growing their businesses and moving closer to their dreams. This intensive summer course was held twice a week for an accelerated course covering marketing, finances, legal structures, licensing, and writing a business plan.

The graduation ceremony featured keynote speaker Bettina Swigger, Executive Director at Festival Mozaic, San Luis Obispo, CA, as well as presentations from some of the students who introduced us to their future businesses.

MCSC would like to send out a special "Thank You" to America's Job Center of California - San Luis Obispo, Cuesta College, @PG&E, and Wells Fargo for their support. We would also like to thank Start, Run & Grow Instructor, Rick Sample for his dedication to the class, and Clint Weirick for the Certificates of Recognition from our elected officials, including the SLO County Board of Supervisors. Without the support and commitment from these organizations and individuals, this class would not be possible.

Start, Run & Grow Your Business is our most popular class, held every spring and fall. The next class is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, September 20th, 2016. Let us help you go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Call MCSC at 805-595-1357 for more information or follow this link to preregister: http://conta.cc/2cd9V0q
