BROWN BAGS & WORKSHOPS
MCSC offers monthly workshops that are open to the public commonly known as Brown Bag workshops. In addition to providing a networking platform, Brown Bags are designed to increase your understanding of important and current business topics and trends. Brown Bags are typically held every third Friday of each month from 12 pm to 1 pm at MCSC headquarters in SLO. Registration is highly encouraged for these events, however, drop-ins are also welcomed.
MCSC also offers stand-alone or series workshops in partnership with other organizations. These workshops are typically 2 hours or more, are designed to be more interactive, and may have a small fee. MCSC partners with many resource providers locally and in neighboring communities. The topics of these workshops also vary depending on what is trending and current within the business community.

The Changing Landscape of Social Media
Panel Discussion + Q&A
Social media marketing is in a state of flux. As trends evolve, what worked two years ago isn’t working today. Small business owners don’t have big budgets and sophisticated marketing agencies to figure all this out.
To help us learn from each other, we have assembled a panel of local businesses to discuss the question: what’s working and not working and what lies ahead?
Join our live Q&A on Wednesday, February 20th from 5:00-7:30 pm at MindBody as we discuss the changing social media landscape and how small business owners can stay ahead of the trends.
The Q&A will explore these topics and more:
Facebook and Instagram have changed a lot in the last few years – what have you seen and how have you adjusted your approach to social media?
What tools are you using to help you be more efficient and improve your results?
What are the primary drivers of new and repeat sales into your business and where does social fit into that picture?
Jenna Hartzell, Senior Director at Cass House Cayucos
Jill Stollmeyer, Owner of East Wellbeing & Tea
Meredith Simmons, Senior Content Marketing Specialist at MINDBODY
Rylin Lindahl, Founder & Creative Director of Native Design & Co.
Panel moderated by Polly Mertens, Business Mindset Coach
